As a member of the Radiology and Cardiology Technical committees I support the development of new profiles in these clincial domains. High-quality patient care and optimal clinical workflow require efficient access to all relevant data across all areas of care. Exchange of information between various health IT systems in a multi-vendor environment is essential to achieve this goal. Despite of existing standards, connecting systems from multiple vendors is still a real challenge, which IHE addresses through a common framework for building effective solutions to overcome interoperability problems.
