IHE User Success Story exhibits describe projects that have made use of the IHE Technical Framework and Integration Profiles to integrate systems within a healthcare institution and to provide the foundation for multi-institution health information exchanges. They highlight the advantages of using IHE to improve:
- Operational efficiency in implementing and upgrading systems
- Productivity and workflow efficiency
- Communication among care providers and patients and access to vital medical information
- Patient safety and quality of care
The exhibits linked below were first presented as part of the Interoperability Showcase at the HIMSS11 annual meeting.
The poster exhibits linked below were gathered in 2003-2004 and represent the first round of IHE implementations--mainly focused on the IHE Radiology domain. IHE is currently soliciting a new round of Success Stories covering the much broader array of clinical and operational domains in healthcare now addressed by IHE.
Call for Success Stories
IHE is eager to hear about the experiences of care providers in using IHE profiles to improve the interoperability of healthcare IT systems--and thus the efficiency, safety and quality of care. We are especially interested in learning about IHE-based health information exchanges and other efforts by healthcare providers and public health agencies to make relevant medical information accessible to fellow care providers and patients.
