The RSNA 2007 Annual Meeting will feature a demonstration and related product showcase of IHE solutions to critical problems in medical imaging today.
Image Sharing Demonstration The IHE Image Sharing Demonstration will highlight two key IHE profiles in action:
Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) and
Teaching File and Clinical Trial Export (TCE). Each provides a critical link in ensuring that imaging is fully integrated in the emerging connected health system.
- The XDS-I profile describes how to exchange images among institutions in a network such as a Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO). The profile has been specified as a Pan-Canadian Standard by Canada Health Infoway and is currently being deployed in regional image-sharing networks across Canada.
- The TCE profile defines a link between diagnostic imaging workstations and systems used in medical education and imaging clinical trials, including the RSNA's Medical Imaging Resource Center (MIRC) software.
Product Showcase Coordinated with the demonstration, RSNA will present a showcase of commercially available products compliant with the TCE profile. Companies with published integration statements for such products will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to link with RSNA's MIRC tools, including a new RSNA-hosted teaching file system called My MIRC Files, in a dedicated area of the RSNA Technical Exhibit Halls.
